Alonso Yañez – Walmart de Mexico y Centroamerica

Alonso was born in Mexico City and has a degree in Computer Systems from the Universidad Iberoamericana, where he graduated with honors and also obtained a master’s degree. He has graduate studies from Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey, Columbia University and the MIT Sloan School of Management. In 2018 He joined Walmart as CIO for Mexico and is responsible for consolidating Wal-Mart’s IT Function, strengthening Wal-Mart’s Digital capabilities to enable a radical Digital Transformation across all business areas. In November 2014, as CIO and member of PepsiCo ́s Executive Committee, he was responsible for leading the Company ́s Digital Transformation consolidating the IT ecosystem while developing different disruptive IT platforms In 1997 he joined Deloitte Consulting as a partner responsible for implementing business solutions through state-of-the-art technologies for global corporations in different industries and countries. Alonso enjoys academic activities and is a frequent speaker in different forums on innovation, business and technology. Alonso is married, father of two daughters and currently lives in Mexico City.
